Nurse Practitioner

Part Time Position - 0.2EFT

Northern District Community Health (NDCH) is looking to employ an experienced Nurse Practitioner to work in our Medical Clinic in Kerang one day per week (0.2EFT) to deliver a primary care clinic to young people onsite at Kerang Technical High School. This role would suit an experienced Nurse who is looking for a new challenge in a supportive healthcare team. This role is established at KTHS and is well supported by the teaching staff who will assist with promoting the clinic and bookings. Each clinic will include the services of an experienced Practice Nurse onsite to assist in the clinic. The program runs once a week during the school term with the objective to increase the access of primary care to young rural people.

The successful applicant will join a team that includes an experienced Nurse Practitioner working in the NDCH Medical Clinic, support of General Practitioners as well as the broader NDCH team. This role acknowledges that the best health outcomes for young people occur when they are surrounded by caring and attentive adults but when this is not the case then the Mature Minor principle applies.
